Having a good daily skincare routine is important for helping us look and feel our best. Having a good daily skincare routine also slows and reduces the signs of aging. Our skin is actually considered an organ and it is the biggest organ we have. It helps protect us from environmental toxins, is where we experience physical sensations of hot, cold, hard, soft, helps regulate body temperature and so much more. On average, the skin accounts for approximately 1/7th of our body weight. This important part of our biological make up deserves our full care and attention. That said, having a daily skincare routine is so often a “nice if I had time to” self-care item for many. Here we will share more about what a good daily skincare routine should look like and we will demonstrate how easy it can be to incorporate into your daily life.
Four Easy Steps to a Good Skincare Routine
1. Cleansing: .Clean your face no more than twice a day, or just once, if you have dry skin and don’t wear makeup. Avoid washing for that squeaky-clean feeling because that means your skin’s natural oils are gone.
2. Serums: A serum can help add nutrients directly to the skin.
3. Moisturizer: Even oily skin needs moisturizer, but having one that doesn’t clog the pours yet protects against the elements is key.
4. Sunscreen: Apply sunscreen with at least 30 SPF 15 minutes before heading outdoors, as it takes a while for sunscreen to activate.
